According to Charles Witten, vice-president for Studfnt Affairs, a number of citizens have called his office asking for information on the salesmen. The names given by the salesmen were looked up in the official register of students, but were not found to be registered. Friday the salesmen began cashing checks at a local bank. which also called the University. "This happens every five or six years," said Witten. "A group of salesmen move into a town where they know there is a lot of sym pathy for a local college, then they pose as students.
