"Hart is an excellent passer but
he can reaRy run the football. He
carries the ball often around the
goal line. As a passer I don't know
anyone that is his peer. lie's just a
,spectacular quarterback."
"The big difference (with Duke)
this year Is that they don't have to
rely cmpletely on Hart, "Powers
said, "they have two fine running
backs."
The running backs are
sophomore Steve Jones and BJU

that big back," Dietzel said. "He
runs over people and then has
enough speed to break loose. He's a
wild man with that football.
Thompson has developed Into a

Harris also has 298 yards in punt

total kick returns for the year. The
NCAA record is just 67 yards
away, 1,075 set last year by Chris

credited with only 94 yards on the
interception return, but after
viewing films of the game,
statisticians at Georgia changed
the official yardage to 96, as the
films showed Harris intercepting
the football at.the four yard line.
Officially, Harris has returned 41
kickoffs 1,187 yards in two varsity
seasons with two games to go in his
junior year. This is just 286 yards
short of the NCAA career record of'
1,473 set by Steve Bramwell of'
Washington on 55 returns, 1964-65.
Harris had three othcr kickoff
returns of 67 yards in last year's
Peach Bowl game that do not count
in official NCAA stats, but are
counted for school records.
Officially, his total kick return
career yardage is 1,562, compared
with the NCAA record of 2,253 held
by Dicky Lyons of Kentucky, 1966
66i on 1,065 yards in punt returns
and 1,188 on kickoff returns.

The pass play was one of only
three passes thrown by TMA all
afternoon. After Sigma Nu was
penalized twice for 15 yards TMA
struck on the fourteen yard pass.
TMA established a blitzing
ground game around Dave Hines
and Wally Jarmula that forced
Sigma Nu into a 4-2-2 defense with
the linebackers jammed in close,
opening up the pass play.
The Sigma Nu offense moved the
ball well as they were able to get
inside TMA 20 yard line on five
separate occasions, but each time
either a penalty or an interception
by a sturdy defense led by Andy
Gallin, Bruce MacDougall and
O'Brian Mathews hurled them
back.

A book containing the literary
and artistic works of Steve Sisk,
who died after collapsing on the
practice field just as he was em

career at USC has been published
by the State Printing Company of

poetry and drawings of the
previous two years were colle:ted

Gentry has been putting his team
through rigorous conditioning
exercises in preparation for this
spring, when formal meets

lot of running, and, of course,
swimming and diving. We've got
two guys who have done a real
good job for us, and another who
will be with us up until conference
time."
The swim mentor was speaking
of Jim Weinzettle,who swims the

"We have four divers who placed

Gentry continued. "Jack Moffet, C
John Thoder, Mike Mayfied, and s
Gary Wetherhoki are real fine t
