The man with the badge was
pleading for respect, not for his
badge, but for your brother, yet he
was called "pig." Who was the real
pig?
A concert Is like a head. If you
get into bed seats, and they drag
your head. I'm sorry, but don't
trample your brother and call him
a pig because he did his head right.
You cannot cop a good head by
dragging someone else. You can't
repair your bad high by trying to
steal someone else. If a person
has good seats and is enjoying a
concert, that's his movie. You
can't get into his movie, you have
to make your own.
Grand Funk, like most rock
concerts was a rip-off. Anytime a
group claims to be a "peoples"
group, and sings of peace and love,
free the people, and all that, and
then charges $5.50 a seat, it is a rip
off.
This is all true, and one can see
why people in cheap seats feel they
should be able to "liberate" more
expensive ones. This is all very
valid, as long as you bear in mind
that maybe that man in the front
row who came up with $5.50 to sit
there got his $5.50 from his stash
money, or his food money. He
didn't steal it from you, nobody
stole those front row seats from
you, somebody bought them.

When you want to pg, YoU
don't go the dealer and say "I want
to get off, give me some stuff," you
buy it, he doesn't lay it on you.
A concert is not unlike the above
situation. A man in the front rows,
bought that trip. He stood in line
and be laid his money down for
one ride on the Grand Funk
Railroad. Because you didn't feel
like standing on line or laying
down $5.50 is no excuse to throw
him out of his seat.
That's the real pig game; that's
a war, taki someone elm thing
because you like It and haven't the
head to roll your own. Don't build
youi head on his dragged head.
This is a movement of peace. Not
a yippie-dippie, plastic-hippie
peace-sign-movement, but a real,
and genuine peace, built on con
sideration for your brothers.
To take extra seats If they are
empty is fine, to sit on the floor up
front is also fine, but remember,
the man next to you is your
brother. Consider him; if you can
dig it, love. him, but most of all
remember that he is there and if
you ever want to be part of
something beyond this rat-race
farce-of-a-society we have now,
you must learn to respect him. Not
because he is bigger than you and
might beat your ass, but for no

In reply to the question, "Are you satisfied with the

replies. 37 of these were "No," one was "Yes," and six were
I don't eat there."
Some of the "No's" were remarkably uncomplimentary
toward Slater. One person said that "Slate does a
remarkably poor job of passing its garbage off as food. The
Russell House Cafeteria should be closed as an act of
mercy." Others, while equally outspoken on the poor
quality and high prices of Slater food, offered suggestions as
to how Slater could improve. One mentioned the fact * t
South Cafeteria should not really be called a cafeteria,
because it's really a snack bar. Many South co-eds corn
plained of not being able to get vegetables and of the poor
selection of meats In the cafeteria.
The usual comments about over-pricing and lack of
quality and not enough to eat were also in the responses.
One reply said "I'm on the Board Plan and I'm getting off as
soon as I can." One girl was outraged at the fact that Slater
sells SINcent ice cream for 15 cents i" Another girl opined
that "b*tter meats are inevitable."
The one student replying "Yes" did not give a reason.
Those saying that they don't eat at Slater had some in
teresting comments. One said that "I don't eat there and I
can't understand anyone who does." Another stated that
"from viewing the situation, I don't want to." Finally, a
graduate student said that "Slater is the same as it was in
1966-poor quality service given by untrqined and unaware
employees."
