of the squad walked out of a
practice, citing poor pool con
ditions and "lack of com
munications" as their primary
grievance. '

story of Dr. Frank Walton, who is a
counselor in USC's counseling '
department.
Monday through Friday, Walton L
appears to be a serious minded and C
helpful counselor for students who a
have troubles. But on Saturday and
Sunday he turns to the violent a

Walton discovered his love for
physical conditioning and contact
sport when he attended Saint I
Justin's High School in Pittsburgh. t

After graduating from St.
Justin's Walton attended John
Carroll College in Cleveland, Ohio,
where he received AMI-Conference
honors for three years. He majored
in history and minored in
education.
At the end of his tenure as star
running back at John Carroll,
Walton was drafted by both the
Detroit Lions of the National
Football League and the newly
formed American Football League
New York Titans.

Walton became interested in
Rugby one night when he met Dr.
Jim Wynn at a party. Wynn
proposed that they try their hand
at rugby. Walton replied that he
would run around the.block and if
he made it home he would give it a
try. This was the first time he had
done anything physical for seven
years.
Walton and Wynn watched one
practice then decided to play.
