victory over Sigma Nv. The Sigma
Nu's led at the end of the first
quarter, 21-18, but ATO stormed

of the season. The USC coeds

Sue Brookout won individual
firsts in all four events. Carla
Huntley was second in the uneven

exercise and the balance beam.
Shelly McGeorge was fourth in the
balance beam. Gussie Coc was
lourth in the floor exercise.
The next event for the team will
be the College Invitational April 3-4
at F'urman University.

of the East's top sprinters in Don
Martin who has run a time of 9.5.
His toughest competition should
come from another USC freshman,
Jimmy Small. Small, who seems to
be getting better and better,

with a time of 6.3.
Other Gamecock standouts
should be Bob Kaczka in the. 880
(Kaczka is the defending con
ference 880 champion and the 1000
-yard run champion), Algie Sims in
the mile and Bobby Howe, Paul
Derrick, and Dickie Harris in the
440.
Jack Miller in the two mile, Jim
Scott in the Pole vault, Dickie
Harris in the broad jump and Tony
Callander and Mike Haggard in the
high jump join the list as potential
standouts for the Cocks.
Dave Hines and Keith Eison join
Small to give Carolina good
strength in the sprints. Sammy
Givson joins Kaczka in the 880,
while Rick Jones gives added
strength in the mile and two-mile.
Freshman Alan Hall, formerly of
Columbia High, has looked very
good in the hurdles, and teamed
with Novo gives strength in the
hurdles.
USC's relay teams also show a
great deal of promise for the
