The Southern Personnel Dean's Conference was at USC
this week.
Dean of Men L. Eugene Cooper is to preside today, but
his style may be hampered a bit. Thursday Cooper stepped
onto the stage step and when the step collasped, "it flipped
me over."
He says that no bones were broken, but the tendons in
his knee were pulled and painful. He is using a cane.
Of mice and men
Binky Maness has a hobby, but it's not one of the con
ventional ones--he's a game hunter right in his dorm room.
Maness has started chasing the mice in his study room in
Tenament 19.
The other night Maness caught one of the little creature
(one thing in Maness's favor is sizerthough1he Is short). H
took the mouse in the cardboard box that he caught it witt
and tried to deposit in a trashcan. The mouse escaped
(Maness's roommate Charlie Fellenbaum claims tha,
they use trashcans for that over there.)
Despite a chase by Maness, the mouse got back into hi.

Fellenbaum saus that they are escalating the conflic

requested information on at least
five specific points:
- receipts of the athletic
department, including ticket sales,
contributions, students fees and
University funds;
- expenditures, including
athletic programs, scholarships,
maintenance, promotion, etc.;
- plans and programs, such as
building needs, proposed rule
changes, etc.;
- plans to leave or enter any
athletic associations;
- and a report on the role of the
athletic program within the
Q. University curriculum.
The resolution, which was
presented by Prof. Henry Lumpkin
of the history department, also
called for making such a report an
annual matter.
Lumpkin said he was
representing a group of faculty
members, but declined comment
on the matter.
Other sources called the
resolution "a follow up" to last
month's faculty resolution which
urged postponing stadium con
struction until academic building
needs were met.
This week's resolution ap
parently was not aimed at un
- covering evidence of "scandal" or
improprieties, sources said.
"The intent was to get the in

also many freaky-looking plain
clothesmen, Including young men
and girls.
