A close examination of the con sti'.ution now governing the Sen ate must be given as a first se). The second problem is the func tioning of the committee system which has been far below par. As chairman of the Academic Affairs Committee I know that only if the committees them elves research their bills in depth can any mean ingful legislation be brought out f the Senate. In summary, I feel certain that I can greatly improve the Senate and the quality of the legislation it considers. I am determined to make the power of student gov ernme'nt felt in the administration builing, but first student govern ment itself mnust know i: s powvers andl use them effect ively.
