Zone 18 and Kappa Alpha won
their respective division champion
ships Thursday night.
Zone 18 defeated Zone 3, 69-53,
and Kappa Alpha beat Sigma Nu,
65-46.
In the Independent League cham
pionship, Doug Fisher and Terry
Campbell paced the winning Zone
18 squad with 18 points apiece.
Campbell's playmaking and Fish
er's work under the boarsd were
instrumental in the win.
Doc Malloy added 12 points to
the Zone 18 cause and coach Dick
Stein had 10. Preston Helms led
the losers w'th 28.
Zone 18 led by 11 at the half,
35-24, and pulled away to a 55-34

period. Helms took over the scor
ing load in the second half, pour
ing in 18 points, but the pair were
unable to match Zone 18's balanced
scoring attack.
In the Fraternity League cham
pionship, cinderella team Kappa
Alpha relied on s o m e hot foul
shooting and the scoring of Greg
Blatt and Tommy Garvin to bomb
a cold shooting Sigma Nu squad.
Blatt finished the night with 23
points and 11 for 12 from the foul
line. The team hit 17 of 20 from
the line. Garvin had 16 points.
John Coleman and Pat Cunning
had 13 each for Sigma Nu and
Sonny Metz added 11.
