Debate Teams
In Tourney
USC will be the host of 43 col
leges and universities in a debate
tournament with both varsity and
novice divisions.
Eight rounds of debate began
yesterday in the varsity division
to decide the teams for the semi
finals tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. The
finals will begin at 2:30 and the
novice tournament will be con
cluded tonight.
Representing Carolina in t h e
varsity division are Mike Thomas
and Jimmy Bradford and in the
novice division, J a m e s Pittman,
Frank Brown, James Chitty and
William Allen.
Carolina debaters are assisting
with the tournament which fea
tures schools on the Atlantic Coast
from Miami to Boston and as far
west as Kentucky.

from raising the speed limit five

on the boards of trustees of South
Carolina colleges.
