The May Day Formal will be
held at the National Guard Armory
on Bluff Road tomorrow night at
8 p.m.
Music will be provided for the
Formal by Warren Covington and
his orchestra, and decorations will
be by Displays Unlimited. The May
Queen and her court will be pre
sented and a photographer will be
present for couple portraits. The
formal is sponsored by the Student
Union Dance Committee.
Covington has received m a n y
awards for his trembone playing as
well as his abilities as a band
leader and dancing. He specializes
with his wife Kathee in the cha
cha.
According to a member of a
local radio-TV complex, Covington
combines "the drive of the forties,
the flash of the fifties and an in
sight into the ever-changing likes
and dislikes of today's music."
Most of the music to be played
by the band has been arranged by
Covington. He manages to blend
the efforts of the musicians in his
band with his excellent barritone
voice.
The May Queen contest is spon
sored by Kappa Sigma Kappa ser
vice fraternity. Voters selected the
1968 May Queen from three final
ists of twenty-eight competing
co-eds selected before last Mon
day's election.
One of the May Queen finalists;
Anne Stephens, Ronni Capici or
Suzanne Oswald will reign over
the May Day festivities.

What's in an Easter Egg?
If the Easter Eggs are for a
Mexican style Easter egg hunt,
they are colored shells filled with
:onfetti to the members of Gamma
Beta Phi Honorary Service Society.
The society cracked 90 egg shells
n Capstone's Cafeteria and painted
them at a Wednesday meeting be
fore Easter for a party they
planned for the Carolina Children's
Home.
On April 5, the (lay the service
;ociety decided to give the 17 boys
ages 8-10 years old at the orphan
age the Easter party, it rained. The
party was, then, held inside.
Though the boys may have
missed their confetti eggs, they still
partied with coconut and jelly bean
:overed cupcakes and grape drink.
rhey probably didn't even feel bad
about the rain as the society enter
tained them with games of "Steal
the Keys" and "Jelly Bean Relay
Race."

Top Band
The Entertainers, a band from
Erskine College, will be featured at
the Golden Spur this weekend. The
band captured top honors at a re
cent Student Union band contest.
Although attendance at the club
isn't what it should be, the club has
been holding its own this semester.
Plans are underway to redecornte
the club for this summer and next
year.

taken last semester. Although some
of the recording artists requested
have not appeared at the club due
to a shortage of money, these enter
