"peer group acceptance" was the
single most consuming goal of to

Does this mean that a contem
porary collegian is more concerned
with his status among his friends

May Day weekend should get a
rousing kickoff with the Carolina
May Ball, featuring the music and
(lancing of the Warren Covington
Band.
Covington has received m a n y
awards for his fine trombone play
ing as well as his abilities as a
band leader.
Most of the music to be played
by the band has been arranged by
Covington. Complimenting the fine
musicians in his band, he blends in
songs in a fine barratone voice.
But playing music, arranging,
and singing seem to be only his;

National Guard Armory on Bluff

May Day Pageant and jazz fes
