Toombs, director of libr-aries. The standing order will include all books published in 1%8 by Over 150 university presses. Be sides American university press publications, the USC libraries will receive books from such places as Melbourne, Australia, Nigeria and Glasgow. Included in the standing order will bie everything p)ublishedI by these p)resses except journals, pteriodlicals, teachers' manuals and syllabi. T1he USC libraries are trying to provide addiitional services for the University Community andl to in sure that the collections contain all the current books needed for the academic p)rograms of the University. My ers on Feb. 27. Myers, of the Department of Political Science and International Studies, is being sponsored by the USC chapter of the Young Ameri cans for Freedom. He is now com pleting a study of the dynamics of the "hero cult" of Chairman Mao Tse-tung and will discuss in his talk Mao Tse-tung and the proletarian cultural revolution in Red China. Myers has been a teaching as sistant in the Far Eastern and Russian Institute of the Univer sity of Washington and was se lected a National Defense Foreign Language Fellow in 1965 and 1966. In 1965 he traveled to Korea, Japan and Taiwan and at tended the !iln Annual Confer ence of the Asian People's Anti communist League in Manila. His article "De-Stalinization and the Hero Cult of Mao Tse-tung" ap peared in the Summer 1965 issue of Orbis magazine. The talk will he at 7:30 p.m. in Room 205 of Russell House. INDIA STUDENTS The newly formed India Stu dents Association of USC last week hosted a program entitled "A Glimpse of India," portraying a full spectrum of India's cultural life. Presentations included docu mentary films, song and dances, harmonica solos, and folk dances. A humorous skit on the ritual marriage ceremony was per formed for the large group of guests. The workshop will cover much the same material as offered in CS 201, Elementary Digital Computer Programming, but is designed for those who need the computer but do not want to take the formal course. Meetings will be held Monday through Thursday for three weeks. The first meeting will be at 5 p.m. in Room 106 of the Physical Sciences Center. No credit will be offered and the workshop is open to all students, staff and faculty. There is no prerequisite except a working knowledge of algebra. The text, "A Guide to FORTRAN IV Programming" by McCracken, is available in the bookstores. Workshop attendees will have sev eral opportunities to run pro grams through the computer for testing.
