"turn off the 'turned-on' genera
tion," Sen. Edward Brooke, R
Mass., told some 300 Carolina stu
dents Wednesday.
Brooke told the group the "de
bate, dissent and discussion going
''on in our country today is healthy."
"I think the recent march on
Washington was good," he said.
"Most of them who came to Wash
ington-and I went among them,
talked to some of them-convinced
me that they are concerned about
the future of America and about
the legality and merality of what
the country is doing. . . . When
