Club will sponsor a presidential
preference poll in conjunction with
a membership drive Oct. 16-21.
F a c u l t y advisor Dr. David
Palmer stated that a booth will be
set up in the lower lobby of the
Russell House where any student
may cast a ballot for the presi
dential candidate of his choice.
The polling time is 11 a.m. until
1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Dr. Palmer said the purpose of
the presidential preference poll is
to encourage participation in gov
ernment by all USC students. A
limited quantity of stickers, but
tons, and information on the Young
Republicans will also be available.

magazine, is taking applications
for additional staff members in
all areas.
Positions are open in fiction,
non-fiction, poetry, art, I a y o u t,
typing, photography and business.
Applications should include name,

of areas of interest.
The deadline for original literary
or art work by students is Nov. 1
for the fall issue. April 1 is the
spring issue deadline.

The national h o n o r fraternity
has hosted the event for the past
three years in an effort to bring
more National Merit Scholars to
Carolina.
