Pro Back Addresses FCA Meet By DON H1ULT Staff Writer Former Alabama quarterback Steve Sloan, who is currently with the Atlanta Falcons, was the guest speaker at last week's meet ing of the Carolina chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. 0 While Sloan did talk some about his college (lays under Bear Bry ant and about the Falcons' newly acquired players, he spoke mostly of his National Guard experiences at Fort Jackson and his past ac tivities with the FCA. "People think that just because I played football at Alabama that I will zip through a 15-mile march with no sweat. I am by no means unpatriotic, but school and foot ball beat the Army any (lay," said Sloan. Sloan recalled when the FCA chapter at Alabama w a s formed during h i s sophomore year. "At the first meetings we had o n I v eight or ten boys; the next y e a r we had SLOAN about 20 or 30. Then we began a forum on sex problems and attracted so many new members we had to move to an auditorium." Sloan and teammate Paul Crane (All-America center at Alabama in 1965) participated in the FCA Campus Crusade held (luring Eas ter vacation at )aytona Beach. All Carolina athletes are invited to attend the next meeting of the Carolina FCA Chapter Thursday at 9:45 p.m. in the Towers Lounge. irar iV Stripes Pre- Hemmed 6 BOTAN Wht'.Bl' A To,, Sigma Nu's Bill Cain Gels Off SI Dewpite Efforts of Zor Carolina Fir In League S The USC Sailing Club dropped another encounter with the Clem son Sailing Team in the ACC Championships.
