Whitehead, a senior from Cayce, found a home about 20 feet from the basket and just to the left of the key and poured in 36 of the Fleet's points to top all scorers for the night. Elsewhere in fraternity action, Sigma Nu thumped Phi Epsilon Pi 44-18, using a well-balanced scoring attack. Phi Delta Theta, with David Nettles scoring 18 and Butch Reeves adding 12, defeated ATO, 57-43. Combes had hoped the team would capture six trophies in the Individuals, but when they ar rived the 200-yard freestyle and the 200-yard butterfly had been completed. Both were strong events for the Biddies. Lee Chesneau won the 1650 freestyle in 18:04.0 and George Fairy, who finished second in the -100-yard individual medley, went on to win the 100-yard butterfly in 55:5. Robbie Allen set a school rec ord when he swam the 100-yard freestyle in 49.6. The young swimmer from Fork Union now holds school records in both the 100- and 200-yard freestyles. Other strong finishers included the University of North Carolina with four individual wins and Wake Forest with three victories. . . Last Friday, several representa tives of the USC freshman swim team entered the Georgia Inter collegiates in Athens, Ga. Lee Chesneau was the outstand ing swimmer for the Biddies. He swam the 1650 freestyle in 18:02.3. which set a school record. It also broke existing marks for the University of Georgia pool ind for the meet. Chesneau went :n to place in the 200 and 500 freestyle events. The USC freshmen nlaced sixth >verall in the Invitational Meet in m field that included 22 college swim teams.
