King has arrived at Carolina to take over the director ship of the University Press. King comes to USC from New York University where he was managing editor of that univer sity's press. lie replaces Mrs. Louise DuBose who was director of the USC press until her retirement in June. As sociate Vice President of Learning Resources George Curry was act ing director of the University Press during the interim. Born in New Jersey in 1930, King !-pent his childhood in Eng land. He attended Emmanuel Col lege of Cambridge University and he graduated from Birmingham University. At the Shakespeare Institute at Strat-ford-upon-Avon, King was in volved in research. King revealed that he is worl< ing on a novel in his spare time. Anticipating King's arrival, Di Curry recently commented that h expects the USC press to continu to be a potent force in the aca demic development of the Univer sity.
