Naval RO' Pilot Train Naval ROTC is offering a flight indoctrination program to enable midshipman to qualify for a pri vate pilot's license. Each student in the program will take 35 hours of flight in struction, 20 hours dual and 15 hours solo; and 35 hours of ground school. FIP is open to midshipmen who are seniors or second semester juniors. To be eligible for FIP, a midshipman must pass a rigorous Navy Flight Qualification Physi cal and be strongly motivated to ward a career in Naval Aviation. The number of students allowed to take FIP has been raised from 10 to 15 per year. The instruction is given by Mil ler Aviation, Inc., at the Columbia Municipal Airport. Midshipmen currently enrolled include Ron N. Brown, David L. Albright, Dean R. Capper, Terry A. Gibson, Fred C. Dean of Women Attends Gathering Dean of Women Elizabeth M. Clotworthy attended the annual convention of the South Carolina Association of Women Deans and Counselors Saturday. Dean Clotworthy, a former presi dent of the association, is this year serving as affiliation chairman. Attending the convention with Dean Clotworthy were nine mem bers of the residence halls staff. They are: Mrs. Azilee Able, Mrs. Louise F a n n i n g, Mrs. Hattie Houser, Mrs. Leona Lewis, Mrs. Pearle McCulloch, Mrs. Elizabeth Preston, Mrs. Gene Zeigler, Miss Mary Carolyne Rogers, and Miss Donna Russell. Education Group Attends Meeting Delegates from Carolina's Kappa Delta Epsilon, national educational sorority, attended the southeast regional conference of the group last weekend at Furman Univer sity. Attending were Lou C. Mangum, Elaine Lennon, Margaret Walling, Caroline Irick, Sally Synder, Ann Williams, and Dr. Eva O'Shields, education professor. Suzanne Scott of Newberry Col lege attended with the USC dele gation. Establishing a KDE chap ter at Newberry is one of the Carolina chapter's main projects of the year.
