If any USC coeds have ever
passed by a group of boys and
wondered about whispered num
bers, this article attempts to ex
plain those numbers.
Girl-watching seems to be the
sport with the largest following
among males on campus. On any
sunny day, a large number of
boys may be seen on the benches
outside Russell House observing
girls. Approximately 80 per cent
of the girls are graded. Those
whispered numbers are the grade
the observed girl receives.
This year the boys have
switched from a six - point to a
four - point system. The ranks are
as follows:
four "cream puff"
three "let's ask her for a date"
two "pleasingly plump"
but not my type
one "Frankenstein's sister"
Boys have been known to throw
pennies at girls in the three and
one-half to four range.
Another annoyance (to the
girls) is the boys' habit of en

many as six boys will get dates h1
this way. g
The benches at Russell House 1
are only a few of the girl-watchers' I
favorite spots. Although the li
brary is meant for studying, few
boys are able to study there.
Aren't those stairs crazy?
It is rumored that all the boys
on the front side of Preston have
binoculars. These are used for
watching girls get in and out of
cars and sitting on benches at
Russell House. Another rumor is
that the University telescope is d
being modified.
Since boys observe girls so
much, they have had ample time
to notice the different types of i
clothes. Wrap-around skirts on a a

Although the girls can't com

How Now, Brown Beatle?
The amazing popularity of the

The craze for imitation of the

Young men can be found every
