The Second World War and the

3hortly thereafter, September 6,
o be exact, the Directorship of the Y
student Union went to Ed Hen
lrickson. This is certainly a deci
tion the University can always
ook upon with pride.
Ed Hendrickson looks upon his ' ,
work with the Student Union and
he University as his greatest
!hallenge. He acknowledges read
ly the services of his assistants
knd finds special praise for the
'ine work of Ann Young and Jack
Wilson. Through Ed and his com
)etent staff, the Student Union
ias added such equipment to the
Jnion plant as the Recreation
.loom, the Study Room, and the
acilities of the Bell Camp.
Of course, Ed readily recog
nizes the Administration and the
part it, too, has played in this
development. His praise of
President Jones for projecting
USC into organized planning for
the future is overwhelming. As
for our University, Ed Hen
drickson, "Our Man On Cam
pus," feels his work and that
of his organization fills the gap
between the academic life
(books) and the environment
and society into which each and
every one of us will someday
stride.
Involvement, challenge, and re- V

Ifendrickson. However, these are Th
riot the "keys" that one finds at- Comi
