On offense the Terps have vet
erans Daryl Hill at flanker, Len
Chiaverini at fullback and sopho
more Walt Mazerack at halfback.
Occasionally they will shift Chi
averini and Hill.
The Middle
When this happens the speedy
Hill will either throw from the
halfback option or run while
Chiaverini will block. They ran
well and often up the middle last
week so that USC fans might well
expect much of the same.
The Gamecocks on the other
hand will be sound except for
Cox, and guard Jim Johnson, still
out with a leg injury. Dennis
Darling will take over Sole's place
on the 2nd unit. John Breeden is
recovered from pre-season injury
and adds strength to the end corps.
In the backfield Larry Gill ran
harder against Duke than he ever
has before. le also hauled in four
passes. Joining Gill as running
backs are his Yankee cohorts
Marty Rosen and Pete DiVenere,
who led the club against Duke.
Phil Branson and Ronnie Lamb
will also see considerable action.
