Beta Epsilon chapter of Alpha
Delta Pi Sorority was awarded the
Efficiency Award, which was the
highest award given to a single
chapter at the National conven
tion this summer.
Miss Belle Howe, president of 1
the chapter of Alpha Delta Pi
here at the University of South
Carolina, attended the national
convention of Alpha Delta Pi this
summer. This convention is held
every other year, and was June
24 through June 30, in Hot
Springs, Arkansas. 1963 was the
112th anniversary of the conven
tion.
It is awarded for overall chap
ter efficiency, including bookkeep
ing, rush, and other sorority busi
ness. For this honor the chapter
received a silver coffee urn.
Also the University chapter won
the President's award. This is
given to the chapter which has
best kept the National President
posted on chapter business. They

of the day was when the counsel
ors presented an original skit,

On Friday the cheerleaders
came out and led the Freshmen in
some football cheers. Later that
day the whole group went on a
picnic. Early Priday evening the
