Behind T BY HENRY EICHEL Maybe it's the veil-block con- i struction that makes the freshmen boys' dorms look like giant bird h cages, or it may just be a desire to 8 get away from studying, but the e boys in H, J, and L dormitories are constantly seeking new ways to act crazy. Wrestling matches and shaving- s cream fights are commonplace, of I course. Hardly a week goes by without several of these. It's the new, the unusual that the boys are a looking for. To play football (tackle t variety) in a room, to pour trash- i can after trashcan of water under someone's door, to build a fire in n the elevator, or roll a shot-put a along the floor is to be in the i spirit of things. c Every week brings something t new. When it snowed in February, there was a hockey game with s broomsticks and cans on the roof of H. More recently, there was a saltine fight in a room. Several t boxes of crackers were used up in i the course of the struggle. Piedmont Put BIG flight-savings in SATURDAY for any cit mont. People ave had their backs painted with hoe polish. At times, boys have ntered their rooms to discover hat their mattresses and bed lothes were missing. What do the hall counselors dc bout these things? Well, one coun. elor had the habit of participating. le chased boys with a broom, was hrown into the shower several imes, and could usually be found n the hall making noise. But then, all hell has been known to break loose. Some boys will tire of studying and look for something to do. Then are the trasheans filled with water, the binoculars trained on South, and the halls turned into battlegrounds. Things usually begin spontan eously. A fellow will say to his roommate, "Let's get the guys A downstairs." Then the two of them will take turns shooting shaving J cream through the lacework into the room below. If the boys down stairs retaliate, the fun really B begins. The next night, there will h be something different. There al- tE ways is.
