ip by the University's Naval
ROTC unit for the purpose of
providing practical radio training
is an introduction into the Naval
Communications System.
K-4NDA gives an opportunity
1or any NROTC student to obtain
in amateur license under qualified
nstruction. Also, AFROTC stu
lents are invited to join.
Thus far, the unit is operating
with four NROTC students who
aleady have their amateur li
- censes. They are: W. M. Herr,
Jr., T. R. Oldham, J. S. Shaffer,
and R. A. Fisher. These midship
men have had conversations with
stations throughout the eastern
i seaboard and also have made con
tacts as far west as Texas and
as far north as Wisconsin. In
addition, when proper atmospheric
conditions prevail, they expect to
make contacts all over the world.
