need for God's love, while "Grab
and Grace" shows man in the light
of the Christ.
Both plays resemble the medieval
moralities in that the characters
are abstractions: Man, Pride, Hell,
Faith, and Grace. Joseph and Mary
are introduced in "The House of
the Stable" but not as historical
l figures. They are people, not
