Marshall Reed, a veteran Co
lumbia tennis official, was named
head of the netters Monday. Wire
editor of the Columbia Record,
Reed is a tennis columnist for the
Record, and has been an umpire
for 32 years.
Reed, who was co-holder of the
1960 state senior doubles title,
has worked for some years with
CIG's VENDORS, INC.

The tennis team practices from
two until five on Monday through
Wednesday at the Maxcy Gregg
courts. Presently basic aspects of
the game are being taken up by
Coach Reed. Regular game prac
tice is slated to begin in several
weeks.
There are still positions open
for competition on the team.
Those interested should report to
the courts dressed for play dur
ing the hours of practice.
