Last Week's Winner: KATHERINE STAPLES
Don't Be
A Silly
Amateur
Have you ever entered a con
test in the hope that you would 1
win that brand new convertible
offered as the first prize? After
ward, did you wonder why you
didn't win? The reason may well
be that you're simply an amateur
trying to win at a professional's
ganie.
Entering contests sponsored by
suppliers of products or services
has become a hobby to many
thousands of Americans. You'd be
surprised at the number of con
test clubs now in existence through
out the country. Members of the
contest clubs meet weekly or
monthly to talk over their entries,
discuss their failures, and find new
contests to enter.
There are also a number of con
test "schools" throughout the coun
try which offer 12-month courses
in contest techniques, information
on different types of contests, and
bi-weekly contest bulletins. The
cost for a 12-month course is cer
r tainly less than the cost of a year
I at Carolina, only $30.
p If you're interested in winning
a few of these dream contests, be
come a professional contestant.
- Join a contest club, take a 12
month course, but don't forget to
I subscribe to the contest magazines
bulletins. These are indispens
I able little items which give you
a inflornmation on new contests and
how to go about submitting the
winning entry.
So, the next time you dream of
winning that new car, or that
summer cruise to Europe, forget
about it! Unless, of course, you
have your Bachelor of Contest
Entries Degree.
