Lill Mo
Lies In
By Regina Galgano
Lill Mood, one of the busiest
seniors on campus, had just found
a spare minute in which to study
when she was interrupted by some
one wanting an interview. While
we sat around her room the busy
little reporter learned quite a few
interesting things about Lill.
She was born in Columbia on
August 12, 1940, but moved to
Summerton after her sixth birth
day. There she grew up and went
to school. One of the ironic things
in her life is that she has found
many of her kindergarten pals
here at Carolina. Now that her
kindergarten career has been taken
care of, we shall proceed to her
college career.
Lill is majoring in nursing, and
will graduate this coming June,
After graduation she would like
to work at Talmadge Hospital in
Augusta. She wants to go intc
pediatrics because "there's nc

k finally found a house with the
lights on she walked up to the
door and knocked on it. "I was so
glad to find a house that looked
inhabited, I forgot to be scared."
The upshot of all this was that
she was on the wrong side of the
F lake, with a car stuck in the mud,
and asking perfect strangers for
directions. The "perfect strangers"
turned out to be quite friendly and
they drove her over in a boat to
pick her friend up. You can
imagine his surprise when he saw
Lill riding up in a boat with people
she had never seen before in her
whole life. Just a word of con
solation, Lill . . . "We all make
mistakes," and anyhow, you will
always have something to tell your
grandchildren. Just in case you're
wondering, Tony is Tony Mc
Creight, the boy she has been
pinned to for two years.
Since Tony is quite a golf fiend,
Lill is going to take it up so that
she won't be a "golf widow," but
so far she has only gotten to the
driving range and the "putt putt"
course.
As far as work goes, Lill has
worked in a Federal office for the
past three summers. Last sum
mer she helped one of doctors in
her hometown and while working
there, saw some unusual things
that "you'd never see in any other
office."
We t h e n started discussing
Sorority Stunt Night, and I found
out that Lill doesn't care for jazz.

Night, I don't know except that
stunt night is a secret.
It might be interesting to note
that in Lill's graduating class
there were eight boys and five
girls, "which was better than when
it started. There were nineteen
boys and I."
During the interview, Lill com
mented that getting admitted to a
hospital was almost easier than
being interviewed. Speaking of
hospitals, Lill has had all the child
hood diseases, just in case anyone
wonders.
Lill Mood is one of the seniors
recently elected to Who's Who in
American Colleges and Universi
ties. It's no wonder, anyone who
can be so active in campus affairs
and maintain a good grade point
ratio should be elected to Who's
Who.
Lill is one girl that Carolina is
glad to have had for her four
years of college, and even though
we know she is pleased to be
graduating in June, she told me a
secret, and it is that she will miss
the University and all the people.
May we say, Lill, that we hope you
have a great future and make all
the children "under the weather"
feel better.
If anyone really wants a great
orientation counselor, Lill can be
found about 4:00 in the morning
getting ready for her nursing
practice at the Columbia Hospital.
Only a person who is really dedi
cated to her profession would get
up at those unearthly hours, and
we know that Lill is very dedicated.
