NEW BUSINESS: Alex Sanders moved that the pro posed constitution be read at this time, but not discussed. Seconded and passed. The first reading of the constitu tion was passed. Sam Freed moved that the Presi dent of the Student Body establish a committee for the purpose of pre senting to the State Legislature the needs of the Carolina Community. Seconded and passed. John Chappell moved that we urge the University Registrar to end the practice of sending lists of students owing money to the University to facul(ty nmehers. Seconded and passed. Bunky Joye offered his resigna tion due to his graduation in January. The resignations of Chuckie Griggs and Jane Coffman were also brought before Council at this time. All resignations were accepted. Ernest Willis moved that we give a vote of thanks to Bunky Joye for his service to Carolina and Student Covernment. Bill Ahle presented the following resolutions which were passed: Whereas, "The Gamecock" staff of the past semester has done an excel lent job in iis overall news coverage, add Whereas, "The Gamecock" has co operated with Council in all of its endeavors, and Whereas, "The Gamecock" has publishte the full minutes of each Council meeting, and Whereas, "The Gaiecock" has practiced mature journalism and a great Carolina spirit; therefore he it v Bjriefs Tuesday luncheon, at 1 p.m., Dr. French of the physics department will speak on the topic, "Does I Science Actually Prove Anything?"
