New Seating
Plan Debated
By Council
A new student seating arrange
ment for football games was dis
cussed at Student Council meet
ing Wednesday.
The arrangement would have
Carolina students seated on the
opposite side of the stadium than
that on which they now sit. That
would place the students on the
east side of the stadium, rather
than the west.
President Mike Quinn urged all
students to consider the proposal
and tell council representatives
their opinions on the matter. Coun
cil will vote Monday to decide a
seating arrangement.
Coach Warren Giese will dis
cuss the matter with Council Mon
day and try to find out exactly
what seating arrangements the
students want. Roger White, sec
retary of the Gamecock Club, will
probably also speak.
The Athletic Advisory Commit
tee of Council will recommend
action for Council to take Mon
day. Rick Harrison is chairman
of the committee. Other members
are Mike Daniels, Jerry Frye,
Vasiliki Moskos, Bill Jones, Jo
Kirven, Barbara Kohn, Dottie
Grey, and Holbrook Platts.
The committee will meet at 1
p.m. today, therefore students are
urged to discuss the matter with
members of the committee before
that time.
