Tenement 6 started the indepen
dent softball league off with a
bang by defeating Maxey Brother
hood Friday and the Sportsmen
Monday.
Against M a x c y Brotherhood,
Holbrook Platts took the mound
and allowed only 4 hits. Bob [in
dale hit a three-run homer in the
fourth inning and along with the
three hits apiece by Billy Garper
and Platts, Tenement 6 ended the
diamond clash with a score of 7-3.
Olyburn was the losing pitcher. '
In Tuesday's g a m e with the
Sportsmen, Platts again filled the
mound allowing ten runs, one a
homer by Long. Smith pitched for
the Sportsmen and in doing so
allowed sixteen runs.
Roberts led Tenement 6 wit h
three hits. They connected on sev
eral other occasions, proven by the

Sportsmen recorded one homer.
