Starting November 9, the De
partment of Fine Arts will show
movies in Russell House four Mon
day mornings from 10:00-10:45.
The first showing will include
"Creative Painting of Landscape"
and "Creative Design in Painting."
The second showing, on Novem
ber 16, will be "Creation of a Por
trait" and "Art and Motion."
On November 23, "Color Lithog
raphy-an Art Medium" will be
shown.
"Silk Screen Painting" and "Arts
of Japan" will be the last showing,
on November 30.

at a social hour and dinner for
the student chapter of the Ameri
can Society of Mechanical Engi
neers. The dlinner was held at
Henry's Restaurant on October
29.

Professor Robert Van Doren of
the University music departmnent
will present his annual faculty
organ recital in Trinity Episcopal
Church at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov.
8.
A professor of organ and music
education at Carolina, Mr. Van
Doren is also, a leader in state
and' southern area organizations.
At present he is serving on various
church music committees.
In December he will conduct-the
annual Junior Choir Festival of the
American Guild of Organists. This
festival will be held in Columbia in
which five hundred children from
various churches will sing a pro.
gram of Christmas music.
For his recital, Mr. Van Doren
will play compositions of Walond,
Buxtehude, K r e b a, Rheinberger,
Jongen and Bach. The public is
cordially invited to attend.

their meetings and requests for
any building equipment such as
public address systems, pianos,
bandstands, and tables should be
made at the Information desk.
Violations of the following rules
constitute a loss of building privi
leges.
Food will be restricted to canteen
and eafeteria areas unless properly
patkaged. to be taken out.
Smoking is permitted in all parts
of the building except in designated
areas such as the auditorium.

do not plan to attend the game.
