Phi Kap Installs Officers Monday before last, April 13, Alpha Eta of Phi Kappa Sigma held its election of officem. The new officers are: Bill Swoard, presiddnt; Sonny Hite, vice president; Tom McLean, record ing secretary; Stan'ley Anshus, treasurer; and Joe Jordan, re cording secretary. 'I KAIIPA ALPHA f Ii Kappa Alpha, one of the older and larger college frater nities, is the perpetuation of the friendship of six students at the University of Virginia during the college year of 1867-1868. The chapter was re iartered on June 11, 1928 after ie repeal of the state's anti raternity law. PI KAPPA PHI Pi Kappa Phi was founded on )ecember 10, 1904, at the College f Charleston, Charleston, South arolina. This is the only na onal fraternity founded in South arolina. The founders were imon Fogarty, Harry Mixson, nd Andrew Kroeg, Jr. National Pi Kappa Phi is ivided into 11 districts through ut the United States with the ational office in Sumter, South arolina. The University of outh Carolina -is a part of Dis rict IV. The National Council ieets every two years to decide raternity policies. The Pledge pin is a white dia iond with a gold scroll super mnposed. The active pin is a iamond with a gold scroll super mnposed bearing the Greek letters f the fraternity, with a gold star nd lamp on the pin. The Red ,ose is the National fraternity's lower. THE COLORS of the frater ity are yellow and gold with lue as the alternate color. The ublications of the national Pi ,appa Phi fraternity are "The tar and Lamp of Pi Kappa 'hi," a magazine published uarterly by the National Coun il; and the "White Diamond," >ledge manual of the fraternity. The University of South Caro ina Chapter is called Sigma, and as founded on December 4, 910. When the fraternities loved off the University campus, 'i Kapps moved to a house on 'endleton Street, returning to he campus when the present raternity row was built.
