Batson, head of the Department of Biology at the Uni versity, has received a research grant of $4,602 from the Atomic Energy Commission. Under the terms of the research contract, Dr. Batson and his staff will study the accumulation of radioactive isotopes 'by different species of native plants for a year beginning Monday, June 1, of this year. The plants will be grown under controlled conditions in an experi mental plot at the Savannah River Plant, Dr. Batson said. Studies of these plants, which will include analysis of radioactive materials by X-ray film will be done in the biology laboratories at the Uni versity.
