hell out of Clemson" will resound
at D)avis Field tonight as Game
cock rooters gather for the "Big
Thursday" pep rally.
After assembling on Davis Field
at 6 :30 p.m. the parade will throng
down Sumter Street for several
blocks, cut across to Main, and
then march back to South Caro
lina's Confederate Square directly
in front of the State House over
looking Main Street.
Leading the parade will be the
Carolina band followed by Maxcy
Brotherhood's display of a Game
cock driving a tiger, the cheer
leaders (varsity and freshman
members) and students, Rosie.
Newman, of the Pep Club has said.
Tiger Will Burn
Burning of the tiger will take
place in front of the State House.
There the band will play, the
cheerleaders will rally supporters
and the tiger will disappear in the
flames.
Although the agenda at the re
spective pep rallies may differ,
the spirit is the same at both
schools for the Carolina-Clemson
pep rallies demonstrate the long
standing rivalry and competition
between the two state institutions.
Bury Gamecock
Clemson, during its traditional
pep rally last night, buried the
Gamecock. "Gator" Farr, a stu
dent at Clemson in 1926, returns
each year to preach the Game
cock's funeral.
