to the University Calendar preced
ing each examination week, Dean

The first reading day will be
Jan. 15 before fall semester final
examinations which are Jan. 16

The state fair recess will be
Oct. 24-26 and the Thanksgiving
recess will be Nov. 28-30. At 5
p.m., Dec. 19, Christmas holidays
begin and classes will be resumed

Dourmitories will open for new
studlents Jan. 22 for the new
studient program Jan. 23-25. An

Registration is Jan. 27 for the

Carolina Stadium
Construction work at Carolina
stadium in addition to installing
seats in the north end zone to
accommodate 8,000 more persons,
includes new rest rooms.
New rest rooms for men and 1
women have been built on the west
side of the stadium. Rest rooms
also will be built under the new
seating area, Dean Patterson said.
This construction is financed by
the appropriation received for I
stadium enlargement.
Work also is going forward on
expanding parking lot 'C,' faculty
and staff parking area west of the
field house. The lot which now
holds 63 cars will be enlarged to I
accommodate a total of 156 cars. 11
The area is bordered by Devine,
Green, Sumter and Main Streets.

A group of Carolina students
and student body officers will con

several campus problems, Student
Body President Bob McNair has
announced.
The discussion will be held in
an attempt to solve the problems
411ccerning housing, foot ball seat
ing and post office arrangements,
according to McNair.
The names of the 12 (Jr 15 stu
dent representatives to compose
the group were not available at
press time.
Stems From Proposal
Today's meeting stemmed from
a proposal calling for a group of
students to discuss the situation
with President Russell. It was
introduced by McNair and adopted
by Student Council at a Council
meeting Monday.
McNair's opinion was that the
students have had 1n voice in the
changes which directly affect
them and that there is dissatisfac
tion with the present systems of
housing, football seating and post
office assignments.
No remedial measures were
brought up at Council, but the
idea was introduced that systems
used at other schools be considered
and the ones which best fit the
need of the University be offered
for proposed adoption at student
body elections.
