For Third
Sigma Chi won the. campus vol
leyball championship for the third
year in a row last Monday night
as they edged by Phi Kappa Sigma
15-6, 12-15, 15-13. Leading the
way for the Chi-men were Joe
Granger, "Cookie" Pericola and
Mike Hearnden.
Sigma Chi had upset a favored
Sigma Nu team to gain the cham
pionship finals with the Phi Kaps.
Sigma Chi also led the balloting
for the all-star team as they
placed two men on the first team.

The Carolina freshman team,
after leading by only one point at
halftime, bounced back in the last
half to hand the Clemson Cubs
their fourth defeat of the season,
64-54, at the field house Saturday
night.
Freddy Luigs and Mike Calla
han paced the Biddies' scoring at
tack with 20 and 17 points respec
tively.
Callahan, Bury Hudson and
Luigs were the big rebounders for
the Biddies.
Carver led the Cubs with 18
points and Krajack followed with
16.
The Cubs have lost to the un
beaten Fort Jackson Eagles
(twice) and North Greenville
Junior College.

the NCA A Swimming Champion

Charlie Krepp, the Tar Heel's
All-America, copped1 three vic
tories in the conference meet, win
ning the 200-yard individual medley
and the 100 andlI 200-yard back
stroke. This season, Krepp tied
the NCA A 100-yard backstroke
record and will be one of the top
contenders for national honors.
Dave McInnis, the Tar Heel's
top diver, compiled the highest
total of his career in the ACC
Meet. McInnis scored 468.25 points
in the high diving event and also
won the low (diving championship.

This will be the third NCA A
