to get a cross-section of the Caro

a feature on the Smoking Habits

Taking a long deep drag on my
cigarette, I stood at the bottom
of the steps and waited for a
smoker to walk down.
A student came down the stairs
with books under his arms and
a cigarette dangling from his
mouth.
"Pardon me," I said, "but would
you tell me why you smoke?"
"So it will turn my teeth yel
low." He said snidely and hurried
on out the door. He wasn't muct
help but I went on, undaunted, tc
the next fellow that came dowii

He was smoking a pipe which
had a purplish-gray smoke curl

A tall, sophisticated btond stood

slowly exhaled with her eyes half
closed. This should be interesting,

feel so absolutely sexy. . . .Don't
you think so?" She began to move
closer so that I would be able to
see and I moved on off because I
had a feature to write. Tough
break, but duty comes first.
A boy in pegged pants, turned
up collar and swept back hair stood
against the wall letting a cigarette
dangle from his mouth.

A weekend entourage from Carolina joined Chapel Hill's
German Club members as they listened and danced to the music
of Louis Armstrong and his orchestra.
Among those attending the events at UNC last week end
were Bill Cork, Billy Akers (KA), Pleas Campbell (former
Theta Chi from UNC now at South Carolina), Jim Frieze (KA),
Jerry Beasley (KA) and Judy Rhodes.
Pins and Rings
Pinnings as announced this week include those of King Dixon
(KA) to Augusta Mason (Tri-Delt), and Bill Andress (X Chi)
to Barbara Rogers (Pi Phi).
Jim Cook (KA alum) and Shirley McCraw were married
