The classroom has been arranged to simulate a family recreation room, centering around an open fireplace. Decorations were nearly all made by children assisting in the project. The students supervised the making and arranging of the displays. Toys were loaned by Belk's De partment, Store. The display is in Room 404, Itarnwell College, and is under the supervision of Mrs. Ruth Trotter. Robert D. Ochs, associate professor of history, will serve as an exchange professor at Rutgers University, Newark, N. J., during the spring semester, President Donald S. Russell has announced. Dr. Ochs, who joined the Uni versity in 1946, is a graduate of Illinois Wesleyan and earned his I'h.l). degree from the University of Illinois. A specialist in Ameri can history, he was- editor of the l'roceedings of the South Carolina 11 istorical Association from 1947 to 1954 and is currently vice-presi dent or that organization. Dr. Ochs was formerly an as sociate editor of the University I'ress and is the author of articles on historical subjects. At Rutgers Dr. Ochs will teach courses in the history of the United States since 1865, the con temporary United States, and con duct a senior seminar in American history.
