A new sorority, Alpha Kappa,
has been formed on campus and
currently has the status of a local
sorority.
The sorority was formed after
a petition to form was approved
by the student activities commit
tee last spring.
The members of Alpha Kappa
recently met with Mrs. William
Katz of Highland Park, Ill., na
tional president of Sigma Delta
Tau, and has petitioned SDT to
become a pledge colony.
Alpha Kappa is the eighth
sorority on the Carolina campus.

sorority recently attended a meet
ing of thd Pan-Hellenic Council,
governing body of the sororities.
