Another very important person
,vho can be located in this depart

herefore is well qualified to hold
his position. Mrs. Ilersey's main
ob is answering the "information c

.he switchboard for many years,
she knows over half of the campus
.elephone numbers from memory.
Other Workers
There are also several other
eople who work in this depart
nent. One of them is Mrs. Sara
. Woodell who is secretary to Mr.
fenderson. There are also several
tudents who work part time. Mr.
'om Lydon is one of these students
vho enjoys giving the inquirers a
ard time but who can- be very
ice and helpful, too.
Besides two telephones, two
esks, and the regular office equip
nent, Room 100 is also equipped
vith a housing board or chart
vhich lists the names and ad
resses of all campus students.
Dictionary
Another very vital item in this
Iffice is a well-used dictionary for
tudents who don't seem to have
mne of their own and call informa
ion for the correct spelling of a
vord.
Mr. Henderson's somewhat
mnique department also handles all
,pecial Deliveries, money orders,
and telegrams. In his office can
e found the schedule of all .tu
lents so that they can be located
t any time in case of an emer
ency. Mr. Henderson says that
it such a case the student is found
ve*n if he or some other member
f the offi&e has to go look for
a m.
The hours of the Housing and
nformation department are from
to 5 Mondays through Fridays
nd from 9 to 1 on Saturdays.
Vhen asked how many employees
re working at one time Mr. Hen
erson relied, "One if we're busy
nd 19 if we aren't, but we try to
(eep two or three all the time."
Restricted Phones
On campus are certain restricted
elep)hones which cannot be reached
romi off campus. Mrs. Hersey has
a take all of these calls, locate
he students, and give them the
lessage.
One interesting fact that can be
ound on a chart in the Informa
ion Office is that the room rent

This very versatile corp of
iorkers not only know the answers
o many questions, but also seenm
0 enjoy giving the answers. They
re called on for everything from

aquirer doesn't. They're a mighty
elpful bunch of people.
