Have you ever wondered v
Russell House? We did too. I
After asking a few questiot
to be used as apartments for
versity. It contains plushly
distance any modern hotel.
The word plush is not just an
other adjective but a word which
aptly describes the third floor of
the building. Decorations were
handled by William Pahlmann, the
interior decorator who did the
lobby and the rest of Russell
House. He also designed some of
the furniture, to fit in with the
motif of the building.
As many as six persons may be
accommodated at one time in the
pent house. It was laid out in
two apartments which in turn can
be subdivided into four rooms with
separate baths. Beautiful sofas
can be converted into beds at
night.
Besides the suites of rooms on
the third floor, WUSC's control
room and the cooling tower for the
air-conditioning system are located
there.
Of Thomas Cooper, the second
president of Carolina, Thomas
Jefferson declared-"He is the
greatest man in America in the
powers of his mind and in acquired
information, and that without a
single exception."
