"The Crucible," a stark drama
of bigotry and persecution, is to
be presented by the University
Players May 9-12. Jack IZast,

in two acts, deals with the witch

(eological Society of America
meeting at Duke University, Dlur
ham, N. C., during the 'holidays.
Dr. L. L. Smith, head of the
geology department, Dr. 11. F.
Buie, Dr. E. C. Perry, and Dr.
Karl Metz, who is a participant in
the program, will attend the meet

from the University of Graz,
Austria, will speak on "Questions
on the Prealpidie His.tory in the
Alps' at, the society's technical
session.
The meeting consists of field
trips and lectures by authorities
in tihe field of geology. Each year
he meeting is held in a different
locale selected for its geological
