The Phi Kaps celebrating song fest Tuesday night at the

PHI EPS CELEBRATE
The Alpha Theta chapter of the Phi Eps celebrated their
twenty-sixth anniversary at the Bamboo Room Saturday.

Traveling to Rock Hill to the Winthrop College Junior

Pi Kapp "HEAD" KENNEDY spent the week end in
Spartanburg where he attended the May Day Dance at Con
verse College.

Among the Pi Kaps at the affair were: TIM JOHNSON,

ON THE ROAD
The following KD's spent the week end in Winnsboro

HELEN GUNTER, Pi Phi, and REMBERT TRUESDALE,
Lambda Chi, traveled to Bethune to the Annual S. C. fishing
tryouts.

Charlotte over the week end.
DROP IN SOMETIME
The KD's entertained at a drop-in under Japanese lanterns
Sunday night.

KA's ALONG THE SEABOARD
KA's attended May Day Festivities all along the Seaboard
last week end. Some of the lucky boys are: "BOOTS" PLOW

SAMMY CRAWFORD who went to Mount Vernon, LAW
RENCE CURRY who went to Agnes Scott, and BILL DOAR,

PiKA's CELEBRATE
PiKA held its annual Bowery Ball last Saturday night at

The spring conference of the
Southeastern Region of the Luth
eran Student Association of Amer
ica was held at Arden, North
Carolina from April 23-25.
The opening address was "Man:
Who is he? Why is he here?"
by the Rev. Harold L. Creager,
from the Lutheran Theological
Southern Seminary. Speakers on
Saturday were the Rev. Oswald
Elbert, eastern regional secretary
of the Division of Student Service;
the Rev. F. William Brandt, St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, Colum
bia; and the Rev. Harold N. Riber,
missionary to India.
The climax of the program was
the installation of regional of
ficers and service with communion
followed by a sermon by Dr.
Brandt on Sunday morning.
Attending from Carolina were:
Mary Dickman, Tommy Thomas,
John Criss, Anne Barrier, Bob
Ellison. Anne Johnston, John
Cooper and Preston Musgrove.
The 1954 National Ashram will
be held from August 28 to Sep
teniber 3 at the National Music
Camp in Interlochen, Michigan.
The theme will be "Christus Vic
tor."

At Open House
WUSC is planning an open
house on Saturday, May 15, from
1:00 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Outstanding radio personalities
from Columbia have been invited.
The guest announcers will be Jack
Cook, WNOK; Mike Rast, better
known as "Dr. Jive" from WCOS;
Mackie Quave, WIS; and Tom
Burgess of WMSC. Each disc
jockey will have a half-hour quiz
program. Prizes will be donated
by Columbia merchants.
Featured will be showvs by eight
of the WUSC announcers.
This is the first open house
WUSC has had since 1947. Re
freshments will be served and
visitors will be taken on a tour
of the studios. All students and
faculty members have been invited
to the open house.
