Last Friday night the annual Sigma Chi .Sweetheart
Dance was held at the Jefferson Hotel Ball Roomh. Reigning
over the dance was Nat Harrison, who was chosen Sweet
heart of Sigma Chi. Gerold Carrigan supplied the music and
the following supplied the dancing.

SUDDENLY IT'S SPRING
Suddenly it's spring and we add to our list of those to
be congratulated. HENRIETTA MORRISON, Tri Delt, is
engaged to WILLIAM LOWNDES (Citadel Alum). MARY
ANNE BURNS, Chi 0, and ENSIGN DONALD EDNEY are
planning a July wedding. MARY LITTLETON and BILL
CRUCE are planning a June wedding. The engagement of
DUNCAN BELLINGER, K.D., and BILL LEWIS was an
nounced by her parents last week.
LARRY LANDRUM, Lambda Chi, is tying the knot this
weekend with KATY PARSONS, ZTA. RAY MOODY, Phi
Kap alum, gave TOMMIE JUNE FAIREY a diamond on
the occasion of his recent graduation from Officers Candi
date School. RHETTA MORRISON, Tri Delt, received a
diamond from BILLY LOWNDES of Greenville. MARY
ANN HOOD, Tri-Delt, married PHIL PEARCE of Columbia.

Derby for.
Second Year
The eigbtb annual Sigma Chi
Derby was held Thursday, April
8 on the Horseshoe with Frank
Epps presiding.
Wi%ner of the Derby was Zeta
Tau Alpha who won the most
poits in the seven contests in the
Derby. Tying for second place
were Tri Delt and P1 Phi, while
Chi Omega and Delta Zeta tied
for third place.
Miss Venus
The Miss Venus Contest was
won by Rankin Suber, Chi Omega's
entry. Betty Bull, for Tri Delt
was second, and Susan Day for
Kappa Delta was third.
Winners of the races were: Sack
race, Tri Delt; relay, Pi Phi;
needle in the haystack, Delta Zeta;
steeplechase, ZTA; pie eating con
test; ZTA; and the secret race, an
Easter Egg hunt, Tri Delt.
Placing judges for the events
