dently haven't seen those bearded K. A.'s. Seriously, they
are looking forward to their Old South Ball, March 20th.
PARTY
Sigma Nu's and their dates had a gay time at the Talk
of the Town this weekend. They were RAT BRANTLEY
with MARION WHALEY; BOB GABRIEL with MARY ANN

At the Sigma Chi Rush party in the Rathskeller Room

TRAVEL
Those who kept the road hot last weekend were:
GERALD HINES, KA, who went to Winthrop. "TOOTIE"
WILLIAMS, KA, WINFIELD SAPP, KA, and BILLY WAT
SON, KA, traveled to Sweet Briar. LAWRENCE CURRY,
KA, went to a dance at the University of Georgia.
The KD's on the road were PAYNIE BOUKNIGHIT and
SUSAN DAY who spent the weekend at Annapolis. Also
MACK HALFORD and ABNER YOUNG spent the week
end in Johnston, S. C. The KD's and their dates at Pawleys
Island last weekend were: GWEN TOOTLE and LOUIS
HOWELL, KA ; BOBBIE GENE ALLEN, KD alum, and
DAVID .JOHNSON; ANNE EVANS and FRED JUMPER,
KA alum; MARY JO GOODING, KD alum, and JOE BERRY,
KA alum; and JEAN THARPE, KD alum, and HENRY
EADDY.
PHILLIS GAMBLE and TOMMY DRAKE, Sigma Nu,
went to an I. F. C. Dance at the University of Georgia.
Chi 0, RANKIN SUBER went to a dance at the Uni
versity of Georgia with SONNY CARAWAY.
The Sigma Nu's reserved the last two rows at the Skyway
Drive-In Theater-H'mm (What will they think of next?)
KENNTH BRAMLETTE, Kappa Sig, went to Waihalla
this weekend to see JOYCE LEE. Kappa Sig square dancer
BILLY RHODES went to Branchville to a square dance this
weekend. The newest system of getting up in the morning
has been devised by the Kappa Sigs, who have a pledge blow
reveille every morning.
Lambda Chi's who journeyed to Winthrop over the week
end for the Freshman Dance were Tony Chapman and Ernest
Lathan.
Larry Landrum, Lambda Chi, was seen visiting his wife
in Greenville.
BRINSON LEAPTROT and BILL DEAN journeyed to
Forsythe, Ga. to visit Bessie Tift College.

Alpha Kappa Gamma will spon
sor its annual Sorority and Fra
ternity Song Fests on Tuesday,
April 27, 1954 and Thursday,
April 29, 1954, respectively. Names
of selections must be in by March
17. If two groups happen to select
the same songs, the group sub
mitting its lists first will have
preference.
The following rules were
adopted by a unanimous vote of
the Circle to be the official rules
of the song-fest sponsored each
spring by Alpha Kappa Gamma.
1. Any Fraternity, Sorority or
Independent group may partici
pate.
2. All participants must be
members of the group they repre
sent. (No alumni, professionals,
may participate.)
3. The group must be made up
of at least three people, and as
many more as desired. There can
be no solos or duets.
4. Each group may sing two
songs, one of these may be a
medley.
5. Costumes for boys will con
sist of dark suits, tuxedoes, or
dinner jackets. Girls will be in
formed in the near future as to
their costumes.
6. No props will be used by any
group. Steps will be available
for those who wish to use them.
7. Piano accompaniment only is
allowed.
8. No group may use the same
song or songs that that group used
within the last four years.
9. All participants must pay the
$ .50 admission fee.
There will be three judges. The
contestants will be judged on the
following points; stressed in the
order listed:

Dance Tonight At
Columbia Hotel
In 1873, the Alpha chapter of
Phi Sigma Kappa was organized
at the University of Massa
chusetts, and the Phi Sigs of Caro
lina will commemorate the found
ing of the Fraternity tonight with
a formal dance from 9:00 'til 1:00
in the ballroom of the Columbia
Hotel.
A cocktail party from 8:00 to
9:00 will begin the evening in th'e
upstairs lounge. Clarence Bra I
will play for the dance.
The "Moonlight Girl" of Phi
Sigma Kappa will be presented at
intermission and she will be en
tered in the competition with the
