Jasion d7ad/ By Carolyn McClungi Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christ mas is on the way and nobody knows what to get anyone else. Since none of us are millionaires, here are a few inexpensive sug gestions that should delight every girl when she opens them on Christmas morning. There isn't a girl on campus d that wouldn't be delighted with a d crisp new crinoline petticoat to d wear under her party dresses dur ing the holiday season. Better yet, get a plain crinoline, line it with taffeta, and put a taffeta ruffle on L- the bottom. r A fountain pen is always a good het when you consider how hard it is to keep up with them. Along d the same line, a mechanical pencil '. with a supply of lead will keep e her taking notes in every class for a long time. Consider records suited to her taste, either singles or an album. New releases are coming out every day and it'll be easy to find some thing she'll like. First, be sure to find out whether she has a 78, 33, Lor 415 rIpm player. No matter how much jewelry she has, she'll love more. Try novelty earrings. a chunky bracelet, a pearl choker oi a rhinestone pin. Put cosmetics to adorn her dress ing table on your list. Some sug gestions are: a large bottle of d1usting powder, a little vial of special perfume, a plastic and nlylonl hairbru.1sh and combll set, at co4mtie kit, bath hobbles, com pact. or an especially fragranit hand lo ion. Or, perhaps, a set of m1ath11in.,, pla tit cosmetic bottles for traveling. (ive a dainty per so a I pair (if wool-nylon bed socks, pickcr mi:tenvs to keep her hands sift while h-eping or a pucker 'cap to wveari over pin cuirls. | T docmrate her room, she miht like a small bulletin board to tack pictures and souvenirs on. If she studies at her desk, she miight appreciate a small desk lamp or a desk ash tray. A little sewing kit complete with thread, needles, thimble, measur ing tape, pinls and scissors would eliminate the mad frantic rush to sew Oin a hutton or a split seam at the last minte. Along the same lnO, a n11aulicir-ing set, a clothes brush. or a niew billfolb.
