was 12%-10 over N. C. State and

Carolina's Dwane Morrison
posted a 74 on the 71 par course.
Bill Picard and Bob Lowry, both
of The Citadel, shared medalist
honors with 73s.

The Gamecock netmen won 'their
eighth match of the season Tues
day, downing Erskine 6-1 at Due
West.
Playing without two regulars,
John Speer and Jimmy Potter, the
netmen were pressed hard in the
singles matches but. sw(pt the
doubles with ease.

Sports Reporter
The Legal Eagles ran up the
biggest softball score of the sea
son as they trampled the Burney
Bees 27-9 Wednesday afternoon.
The Barristers belted nine home
runs with pounding Pete Hyman
and Herman Bershtein each con
necting for a pair. The Eagles
sent 20 runs scampering across the
plate in the first two innings.
Earlier in the week the Legal
Eagles picked up a forfeit win
over Ten. 1&5 and now lead Inde
pendent League two with a per
feet 3-0 record.
The only other Independent
game saw Burney trounce Maxey
3rd 17-4.
Pi Kappa Phi kept its record
unblemished by defeating ATO
4-2 in a tight game. The Pi Kaps
now have a 4-0 record.
ATO evened its record for the
week by outslugging Kappa Sigma
14-12.
