es. Aircraft Observer Cadets receive approximately 200 hours
F "in the air" instruction. The primary phase of Aircraft
bserver training is the' same for all branches (navigation,
ombardment, etc.). The basic and advanced phase of training
aries, depending on the specific course you wish to pursue.
mhat kind of ships will I fly?
'ou will fly jets. The Pilot Cadet takes his first instructions in
light, civilian-type plane of approximately 100 horsepower,
ien graduates to the 600 horsepower T-6 "Texan" before
aceiving transition training in jets. You then advance gradually
ntil you are flying such famous first-line aircraft as F-86 Sabre,
-49 Scorpion, B-47 Stratojet, B-50 Superfortress. Observer
~adets take flight instructions in the C-47 Dakota, the T-29
onvair, and the TB-Superfortress before advancing to first-line
ircraft such as the F-89 Scorpion, B-47 Stratojet or TB-50
