Padget Elected Phi Kappa Sigma Pledge President Phi Kappa Sigma pledges have elected their officers for the com ing semester as Homer Padget, president; Gibby Dean, vice-presi dent, and Dave Martin, secretary treasurer. Other pledges are Bobby Bos well, Jim Brown, Glenn Conrad, Jack Cox, Jerry Cox, Bruce Dodd, Jack Field, Billy Hughes, Jimmy Jenkins, Charles Jennings, Ken Keels, Doughty King, Sandy Mc Pherson, Hank Mathis, Charles Mielke, Bobby Milling, Bill Mur phy, Sammy Snead, Claude Taylor, Bob Teague, Jack Turbyfill, and Art Vance. The pledges were pledged and entertained with a dinner at the Rainbow Room. The chapter is having a Christ mas party this Saturday night. The party will be at the Pinewood Club. The pledges will entertain during intermission with a double quartet singing Christmas yule tides. The program is ponsored by the Red Cross and s assumed as Panhellenic's, gov ~rning body of the sororities, proj ect for this year. Norma Bergman, president of Panhellenic, said that the girls probably would dance with the hos pitalized soldiers as their part of the recreation program. The pro. gram will take part in the rec reation hall; the girls wvill rnot visit the wards. As before, an army bus will pick up the girls at Sims dormitory at B:30 p. m. and return them there at 9:30. This program is the only one lealing with soldiers in Columbia which the university officially sanctions. shoe in order to better inform Carolina students of campus-wide activities. Anyone can use this board except social organizations and for polit ical purposes. The space is rented through the Student Activities of fice, and costs twventy-five cents for one side or fifty cents for both sides. The paper is supplied by the Pep club.
